Unit 8

The Subtle Mind and Visualization are practices that I currently do frequently. I feel that these practices help me focus my mind and bring things back into prospective. I would try to implement these practices in my life daily in order to enhance mental fitness. The loving kindness exercise I would do at night time, right before I am going to bed due to me being in a more relax state of mind and it would be a little easier for me to focus on what I am trying to accomplish preparing me for the next day. Being able to serve others with loving kindness is a great reward in itself. Visualization exercise I would do any time of the day because I can become creative with my environment especially if I am not feeling where I am at in that particular moment.

  1. These are great ideas of what you can do to help your life in a postive way. I would say that these exercises are great because they really make you feel at ease and in a great state of mind. Picking the Loving Kindness exercise to do right before bed is a good choice. I think this is a great idea because you are just at a state of calming the body down just in time for bed. I think you should see major results that turn in a postive way.

  2. I think you are really focused on what is important in your life and what types of exercises you need to do. I also found that the Visualization exercise is very helpful as well. I think this is a great exercise because you can do it at anytime during the day or even at night time and it reminds me of all the wonderful people in my life; past and present; and what they mean to me:)
I also think that meditation and the Loving Kindness exercise are also great as well. I will have to try the Loving Kindness one at night; that is a great idea because that is the time when you can finally stop and relax your mind and body for a while.
    Thanks:)

  3. I love your idea of practicing the loving kindness exercise right before bed. I think that is actually a great idea for a lot of these types of exercises and practices. At the beginning of this class, I was trying to do these exercises during the day because that was really the only time I had available, but I noticed they didn't work as well, and I wasn't getting as much as I could, out of the exercises. Now I will set a "quiet time" in my house if I feel I need it during the day, or I make sure to get it in when my kiddos are in bed. I am able to really calm myself and truly get all I can out of this exercise. Thanks for your post!

  4. I also agree with you regarding the subtle-mind and visualization practice being the most helpful and beneficial to your mind-body health. Both these practice have simple instructions and a expedited process to feeling serenity and comfort regarding your life and experiences. This also the best practice to conduct stress reduction.
