Meditation Unit 6

I was unable to get any type of relaxation with this meditation exercise. I am unable to get any relaxation from these exercises, and I do not know what I am doing wrong, or what the problem could be? I am hoping to eventually find an exercise that I will be able to relax. I have so much stress that I am dealing with, I need some help.

As for the integral assessment the excercise involves deep breathing in a relax position and asking yourself "what part of my life is ready for growth and development". By doing this you can identify one of the four areas that you are looking to develop.  I also need help with dealing with the stressors in my life, so I need to work on training my mind.

    I really understand what you mean by relaxing with these exercises. In this one, though, it is one of those things that you need to say out loud to yourself. I think there is validity in speaking positive words out loud, or writing them down and seeing them every day. I write positive things in wet-dry erase markers on my bathroom mirror so I can see them every day and wipe them off easily. I wonder why you are having such a time of being able to relax? You must be under a great amount of stress. I wish you grace and peace as you find a way through this time of adversity.

  2. Hi Jean!

    I know that the audio quality on these mediations aren’t the best which in and of it’s self can hinder your relaxation. I have been on stress overload for a while now and I’m finding that I can become overwhelmed by even what appear on the surface to be simple tasks. I’m learning how to slow down! I know that it is much easier said than done when you’re the only one doing everything but you still need to try. If these mediations aren’t working for you try Love Tapes I was introduced to them almost 30 years ago and they have some things you can download that you might find a little more relaxing than these for the most part they are just ocean waves and the messages are subliminal they do have a words section so you can hear what they’re saying to you. Give them a try.

  3. Jean, I understand the difficulty in the relaxation tapes but it sounds like you really need to find something that will work for you. You might try your public library or in your community they might have a meditation room or something along those lines that can loan you some materials that have worked for others. I know how hard it is to quiet the mind when you are very worried, in the past when my children where young I used a cd player by my bed with headphones and listened to relaxation tapes and would usually fall asleep before the end. The key to some of this stuff is that you need to trust that it will help you, I want to assure you that it isn't an instant cure but give it time and it will help:)
